Daycare
At the Paw Pad, we provide an innovative and fun alternative to leaving your four-legged friend alone at home. Your dog can run, play, wrestle, chase a buddy, play hide and seek, snuggle up with a buddy, get lavished with attention or just hang out with friends. Dogs have free run of our temperature controlled indoor play parks and also 8000sq. feet of outdoor play yards that include toys, doggy pools and canine play equipment designed especially for our canine guests.
Before your pooch can come and play with us in daycare, please complete a Paw Pad Enrollment Packet (click here to download) which includes information about your dog to enable us to make his stay most enjoyable. We will also need your pooch's vaccination records from your vet's office. We ask that your dog have his vaccinations at least two weeks before his first visit with us. Please provide written proof of current distemper/parvo, Bordetella vaccinations, rabies, canine influenza and a negative fecal examination. Also please provide a heartworm test. Dogs over 6 months old must be spayed or neutered for all services except grooming and private consultation.
On your first day, you and your pup will be welcomed to The Paw Pad and your pup will be escorted back to one of our play parks. There he will be greeted by one of our canine caretakers. The Canine Caretaker will then facilitate your pup's introduction to the rest of the group. For safety and well being for your pooch, we do what we call a slow introduction, your dog meets one or two other dogs in intervals, rather than meeting all the dogs at the same time, which can be overwhelming. Some dogs will immediately make new friends and have fun playing all day long. However, it is also normal if it takes a couple of sessions before your dog really come out of his shell.
You may bring food or snacks for your dog, although we do provide treats as positive reinforcement for good behaviors. The Paw Pad also offers gourmet treats and Yappy Hour which features chilled doggie sundae treat for $2.00. The first day is a trial day for your dog. Sometimes daycare is not a good fit for every dog, although most dogs have a terrific time and make new friends, both four-legged and two legged.
